Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!
I hope this is a happy, healing and healthy year.
Some of you that have been on the forums for a while will remember Gaj (Guy was his real name) and many of his articulate and well informed post and replies. Sadly, he passed from HCC last January in Melbourne Australia.
We had been PMing back and forth and then suddenly his PM and post stopped mid thread. His sister sent me a PM informing me he succumbed as his previously treated hcc came back and must have been very aggressive.
He was a big supporter of getting CT scans once a year along with bi annual Ultra S as some Liver cancers, like his, are not picked up by US.
I miss his post and hope he will inspire others with cirrhosis, as he did for me to get annual CT scans of the liver.
Thank you Guy!!
Keep up the good fight!
Best always,
Greg

Thanks for informing us about what happened to Guy. He was an inspiration and a calming spirit who did much to inform and comfort us all. Another kind spirit taken from us early by the dangers we face from having had long term HCV infection.

Thank you for holding space for one of our, now gone, members. This is a heartfelt reminder of why we want to cure hep C early, and when that doesn't happen, why rigorous follow-up is essential.
And to care for each other while we are on this journey.

Oh my gosh so sad to hear this thanks for letting us know :(

Thanks for the post, Greg.
This is sad news.
I had some interesting exchanges with Gaj.
It's strange you know - I was just thinking about him the other day.
I live in New Zealand.
There aren't a lot of us down here - and it was good to know that he was close by.
Gaj gave a lot to these forums - esp. to Fix Hep C in Australia.
I think he gave a lot, just anyway.
Best to all,
A.
