Title: Fibroscan
Post by: LindaBalz on January 29, 2019, 02:48:23 pm
My dr. mentioned that he may order a fibroscan just to see if I really have cirhrosis .

Does anyone know if that is routinely cover by insurance? I cant find out from my insurance, Anthem, so I am reaching out to anyone here who had it done in the US.

Thanks u,

Linda B.

It’s a fairly simple test kind of like an ultrasound that thumps to determine liver stiffness. So I don’t think it would be near as expensive as a liver biopsy not to mention much less invasive.

The only way to know if it’s covered with your insurance is to contact your insurer. Mine was covered I have BCBS through my former employer through retiree medical
