I am diagnosed with hep b just few weeks ago. So, I am so worried about my health thinking that I would live short. After I was diagnosed with hep b. Then, the doctor told me to go for another check called Hepatitis b profile test to know whether the virus is replicating or not. Then after I did it I brought the result to the doctor and he told me not to worry in the next six months I should come back for another medical check-up. I was so worried that day too not knowing anything pertaining to my help condition. So, the next day I felt much jaundice like never before, I quickly went back to the hospital I met the doctor and he tested my blood pressure and he said to me it's fine. I can't believe him I have to ask him what is my hep b status now is an acute or chronic. He said to me that it's fine with me again. I can't just believe him then I asked him to explain the result I have collect from the lab to about my Hep b profile. Then; He said My body has developed antibodies in fighting against the antigens. I was like I still don't understand you doctor can you explain it to my understanding. He smiled and said to me that my immune system is taking responsibility for fighting the Hep b. I was like does that me I can clear the virus completely out of me. Then he said yes possibly I can depending on the nature of my immune system. And he added that most adult recover from hep b fully but few among the adult become a long life carrier of the virus (chronic) I was still thinking about it. So, he suggested that I should take some rest, eat healthy food and drink a lot of water. It can help my immune system to work effectively to fight the virus. So, I am still not sure whether he's telling me the fact or not. You some doctors normally tell you all those things for you not to worried about the virus. So, I came back home for treatment again. I was still diagnosed with hep b again when I went for medical check-up again. So, the Doctor there recommended us to go for liver function test to know whether the virus is affecting live or not. So, when did the test and the comment under my test was biochemically I am not suggestive of hepatic impairment. Then, we brought back the result to the doctor in the hospital to further analyze the test for us. The Doctor said that my liver is okay but the best he can tell me to do is to buy RANLIV-FORTE it's supportive for healthy liver. Then I bought the medicine just 5days ago. I am now taking the drugs as prescribed by pharmacist. So, my question is and I need you to be very honest with Sir; Does Hep really go away or it would be in person's blood for the whole time.
Because I read it from different reliable Medical platforms like, CDC, WebMD, Healthline, Mayo clinic and the rest. That in most adult recover fully from the virus but few among the adults go on developing a chronic disease. So, please how is your side of encouragement?

What you read on the CDC website is correct. Many are able to recover from hep b but some will go on to be chronic carriers only time will answer what happens in your case.

Thanks Sir. I wish my case to be different. I mean I hope to survive the virus....... I am tensed up about it. I don't know how I got it. I wasn't sure to this time. I live in a third world country where scourges like this are prevalent. I am from Nigeria. So, I hope to survive this

Yes I understand how concerning this is to learn you have hepatitis b. But at this point it is still possible got you to beat the virus in your own. And if you fo end up chronically infected, many many people live long full lives while infected with hep b.
For myself I was probably infected with a similar virus hepatitis C. I likely became infected at about 22 years old I’m now 63. I was finally cured just 6 years ago.
Stay strong you will be fine no matter what happens with the virus it may just be something you need to live with.

I thank you so very much for kind gesture. I hope you be cured one day. I want to travel abroad in the near future. So, US doesn't permit people with chronic hep b to work or live there.

In any event, having tested hepatitis B-positive is not a bar to getting a visa or entering the United States. The bar for communicable diseases for green card applicants applies only to diseases of “public health significance.” That includes chancroid, gonorrhea, infectious leprosy, infectious syphilis and active tuberculosis.”
