Title: Shorter treatment for some with co-infection
Post by: iana5252 on June 02, 2011, 07:47:13 am
From AIDSmeds : Shorter Treatment for Acute Hep C Works in HIV-Coinfected MSM

http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/hiv_hcv_acute_1667_20546.shtml

"...just as likely to clear their HCV with a 24-week course of treatment as those treated for a full 48 weeks..."

Great news!

The good news just keeps coming. Still on the fence about whether I should start treatment or wait for more info on these new drugs. Also sounds like there are even better drugs coming down the pipe.

24 weeks is still a long time. I hear even quicker and less side-effect drugs are on the way. I'm waiting as long as I can.
