My lymphocytes have increased...
« on: September 25, 2014, 04:53:17 pm »
During my 2nd week of treatment, my lymphocytes were fine. They have always been, up until week 4 (today) I see that my lymphocyte value has increased to    5860 from 3400 two weeks ago. Could this be due to the treatment? I'm on the  Olysio/Sovaldi combo.

My doctor says it's probably due to the treatment, but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.

That isn't clinical significant, and I wouldn't be concerned. Lymphocytes go up when the immune system is working a bit harder - a good thing.

Just received 8 wk lab rslts. Alt-21, Ast-16. Holding steady.Undetect wk 4. No VL this trip.
Lymphocytes have been basically high normal. Wk 4 and Wk 8 increase to 3700, 3800. Not near as high as yours but was concerned also. Doc says immune system fighting harder. I jog a lot which is great for immune system. I also have decrease in neutrophils - the ones basically responsible for bacterial infections. They dipped down to 900.This is considered moderate neutropenia. So I wash a lot, wear gloves at work almost constantly, stay away from sick people. I have about 3 wks left on S/O. Also I am delaying flu shot
until treatment is finished. Last year had reaction - flu symptoms. Hope this info is helpful.

                                                                               Best wishes!   Bad Brad
