I'm worried.. Could I be infected!?
« on: December 22, 2014, 06:50:12 pm »
I work at an assisted living facility. A resident has diabetes and hep c. Today I handed him his meds and his finger touched a small wound I have on my finger. He wasn't bleeding but I'm worried what if he hasn't washed his hands. Could it be transmitted that way? I'm just really paranoid when it comes to things like this.

Morris,

Hep C is carried in the blood and you need to have blood to blood contact.

If you are concerned then by all means go get tested.

I'm sure you are already vaccinated against Hep A and B; if not you may want to consider that.

Hi Morris,

You have about a zip chance of contracting Hep-C from the potential exposure you mentioned.

Best wishes, Mike
