hcv-rna at 8-weeks
« on: December 31, 2014, 09:30:08 pm »
Do doctors usually do a hcv-rna test at 8-weeks or do they wait until 12 weeks?  got 8 week labs and no hcv-rna test.  I  was looking forward to it cause I'm on the old guidelines of 12 weeks s/o and new guidelines call for 24 weeks for someone in my condition.   I have an app with ID Dr on the 7th to discuss labs.  By then I'll have 7 days of meds left.  8 week labs.  alt 29, ast 24, plt's 144, bilirubin 1.0.  other than plt's down a little and glucose at 130 everything else is in normal range.

Not sure what you men by hcv-rna Trapper, but imagine it is viral load. It is usually done at 4, 8 and 12 weeks and then 4 and 12 weeks after the end of treatment.

one day left on s/o treatment.  was still undetected at 11 weeks.  hope it stays their forever.  asked about my enlarged spleen and if it would go down in size,  he said he didn't think so cause its from portal hypertension.   I'm trying to find out how bad my liver really is,  5%,  20%  left that's good.  he said as long as my liver enzymes are normal the liver is doing its job.  hope so.    trapper
