Undetectable and Farewell
« on: January 22, 2015, 11:30:37 am »
The day has finally come and my test results are in and I am officially undetectable. I had no side effects on Harvoni and I believe it will go down in history as a miracle drug. I am absolutely thrilled as this news gives me a long awaited, happy ending to my story. However, my victory is bittersweet as there are so many that lost their battle waiting for a cure. There are also those still unable to get approved for Harvoni by their medical insurance. With the advent of the new medications coming out this year, there’s no doubt in my mind that eventually everyone will be getting access to the new drugs, so hang in there.

Having this forum has truly been a gift and I want to give a “BIG” thank you to all the moderators for your infinite wisdom and working tirelessly in providing us a soft place to fall. This includes all my hep brothers and sisters that posted and gave me hope, encouragement and comfort during my healing.

That said, it is time for me to say goodbye as I will be leaving this site to get back to work full time on my manuscript. My book is a tribute to all of my fellow heppers including those afflicted with autoimmune disease. My story is about my journey to wellness fighting hep c during eight weeks of treatment on Harvoni. I also chronicled my success in reversing lupus and rheumatoid arthritis while on the Gerson Therapy. It’s my hope that my book will generate the global awareness that we so rightfully deserve.

It’s my new passion to help others understand that conventional medicine can work in tandem with alternative healing therapies. Thanks to the new medicines we no longer have to feel the shame and stigma of this disease. After decades of suffering in silence, we can finally come out of the closet and proudly announce we slayed the dragon. In the coming years, millions around the globe will be cured and hepatitis c will become a thing of the past, just like polio and tuberculosis.

It is time to start living my life again and getting back to my purpose – sharing, inspiring and helping others achieve their goals in becoming well. It’s going to be a great year and I wish everyone the very best on their continued journeys to good health.

Blessings,
Pam

I'm glad you were able to say goodbye to HCV.
I may do the same thing myself one of these days.
Best wishes to you for love, wellness, and a long life.

How long did you take Harvoni?

At what point did you reach UD status?

Is this the first Tx you've tried?

What condition was your liver in when beginning Harvoni?

What is your age?

Sorry to ask so many questions but if more of us would put this important info in their signatures we could all learn from it and not have to ask.

Definitely, what Lukey said!  Lets put some relevant treatment and status info in our signatures so that the results we report have some context, and can be more useful to readers.  Simply go to Forum/Forum Profile at the top of the page, and enter the relevant info in the Signature space.

How long did you take Harvoni?

I'm on week 5 with 3 more weeks to go.

At what point did you reach UD status?

5 weeks

Is this the first Tx you've tried?

Yes, treatment naive with Genotype 1a; VL was 2 million

What condition was your liver in when beginning Harvoni?

F1-F2 Fibrosis score

What is your age?

59 years old - How I contracted it will remain a mystery. Becoming undetectable was nothing short of a miracle and intuitively I feel it's gone for good!

Pam, I must have read you wrong; it sounded like you were signing off because you had just completed treatment!  At any rate, congrats on your mid term UND status, and continued good luck in seeking SVR, and with your book...

Keep us updated. :) It does seem as though my Tx is going quite good. I seem to have gotten over the headache and GI issues and I seem to have more spring in my walk and some more pep, and that tells me that my VL has been reduced quite a bit. I'm also sleeping deeper and my general outlook seems to be brighter.

Though we won't know for sure until we see my blood work results, I have a gut feeling I'm going to come out of this victorious. I hope I'm right.

I'm over 2 weeks into Harvoni (or 25% of the way done) with about 6 weeks left.
