Swollen feet?
« on: February 12, 2015, 11:20:10 pm »
Has anyone experienced any swelling of their feet while on Harvoni?  Probably more a result of my Diabetes and Kidney disease, but timing makes me curious.  Thanks...Mike

I had a tiny amount yesterday. It was nothing to write home about. If you're having bad swelling, you may need to talk to your doctor, just in case. Are you drinking a lot of water?

Saw my general practitioner yesterday.  Had several hypotheses, diagnosed pitting edema, said it was early days of having Harvoni approved and patients treated, more results as treatment base increases.  Yes, drinking a lot of water...Mike

Good for you on seeing your GP. It's really hard for us and our Drs because no one knows anything yet about Harvoni.

Did he tell you to elevate your feet or anything to help the swelling?

Yes, said to elevate feet. Altho people are suppose to stand more, and walk more.  Didn't ask if I was drinking too much water.  Said 3 major caused of swelling are liver, heart, and kidney. He's checking on heart, will see kidney doc next mo. My 4 week labs just came back -  Virus Undetected!!   Thanks for e-mail....Mike

I developed pitting edema about 2 years after I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. In my case the edema is a result of the cirrhosis in my case.

Good luck
