FibroSpect & FibroSure(Test) vs FibroScan

As I understand it, FibroSpect and FibroSure(Test) use several blood tests to come up with a score of the condition of ones liver whereas FibroScan uses an elastography scan. Has anyone had or know of any major inconsistencies between these tests? My FibroSpect 2 test says I have a score of less than 16 which is an F0/1. However, I have many signs and symptoms that indicate to me that I am further along the process than this test has identified. Has anyone ever had any of these tests notably conflict?

I have heard they are less accurate for lower levels of damage but if you have F4 there is a much greater correlation between actual damage and testing results. This is true for the blood testing method and the fibroscan tests.

For most accuracy with lower levels of damage the liver biopsy remains as the gold standard.

Thanks Lynn. I see. And I see why. And darn. I just scheduled a scan hundreds of miles away to avoid a local biopsy. The numbers are very low but one can die from a liver biopsy. But that's not what scares me. It's the size of the harpoon. But if I must I suppose I will next.

Well I have survived 4 liver biopsies some were better than others. And I swear it isnt a harpoon only a big needle.

Just make sure you have a driver. I did one without a support person and could have no anesthetic because of it
