My First Post
« on: March 09, 2015, 10:13:28 pm »
My first post: Blessings to you all & thank God for this amazing opportunity to be healed of Hep.C. By the grace of God I have enjoyed remarkable good health since being diagnosed in 1993. I never get sick, that's possibly why this treatment has been so hard on me. I've been feeling lousy since 3 days in, mostly nausea. I just have to keep something on my stomach, but even water is nauseating. Bland is my new diet staple.
Today is Day 19 of Harvoni for me - only 37 more days to go. My Doc is wonderful - will be testing every 2 weeks, liver enzymes already down, praise God! I know that compared to so many other disease treatments, my side effects are so very mild, but I am a BIG BABY! and not at all used to being sick, so I've been feeling sorry for myself and can't seem to pull myself together.
Anxiety & headaches have been lifelong aggravations, so not surprising anxiety is up, headaches sporadic, but the nausea is bad & I miss my Tums. I just really want to avoid anything that might interfere with the efficacy of Harvoni, so I refuse to take anything for my stomach, my poor stomach! Milk does really help.
Today has been my worst day. I've been crying all day & am utterly useless. Will have to cancel an important class I'm supposed to teach tomorrow. This is what lead me to this forum & I really do feel a little better after reading your posts. Plus my little dog is doing her best to comfort me by warming my lap & my tummy.
Have read all your posts & my heart & my prayers go out to you all & I thank you for your suggestions, support, courage & sympathy! It's great to know there are people who understand what we're going through. It's especially great that this is a journey to renewed vim, vigor & vitality! Praise God & all those who have worked so successfully on finding a cure for us.
Best wishes & blessings to you all,
Victori

Welcome Victori you are in the right place.
This is a well educated forum and loving environment to support you and cheer you on.

Have you called the Harvoni Support path?
I am on a different drug regimen than you are, but I believe that each pharmacy has their own version of a telenurse who can help you with all your side effect questions and concerns.

The good news is that in only 37 more days and you are - check the box- done!

Thank you so much, Sapphire and Karen, for your responses and encouragement. I am so amazed and grateful for this opportunity to be healed of HepC that I am almost afraid to tell my Dr. about my side effects, fearing he might want to take me off the Harvoni. But knowing how hard he and his staff worked to get me this medication, I'm sure he'll want to encourage me and help me get through the nausea and anxiety I am feeling. I see him Wednesday, 3/11, and I already know the results of the first 2 week's labs are encouraging.
Hope you are both doing well and thanks again for your support. Hanging in there,
Victori

For your nausea, you can also try ginger tea-cup of hot water, couple quarter sized pieces of ginger, lemon and honey if you like. Steep that for a few minutes and drink.
