I just noticed the water I have been drinking contains electrolytes namely calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, and potassium bicarbonate.  Is the water ok to drink as I am treating with Harvoni?

Thanks

Asking your doctor is your best bet.

My inclination is no.....because of the calcium.

What they worry about is the acid-neutralizing form that you find in Tums---calcium gluconate---is the problem. I was taking Calcium Citrate supp's, but my doctor said to stay away from calcium supplements for the course of therapy. They just don't know enough yet...

I do take Magnesium Citrate for occasional muscle cramping but I'm sure to take it at nite and the Harvoni in the morning...

But, I suggest asking your doctor to be sure.

thanks Meg, I am just not going to drink that water.  Good thing I read the bottle!

today is day 10 into 12 weeks of treatment. I hope everything will be ok.  I will talk to my doctor next appointment.  lesson learned.  never did I think about the water I was drinking to contain something that possibly I should not have.
