Can't stop scratching --- 1 Month Later

Finished my Sovaldi Ribovarin a month ago.  The last two weeks taking the pills the itching was intense.  I got thrush in my mouth.  Doctor gave me meds for the thrush and it finally went away but I am itching still from head to toe.  I started thinking I had scabies or something .. My primary care doctor said no, but I don't think he was familiar with the side effects of the Sovaldi, Ribovarin.

Has your doc prescribed an antihistamine, such as hydroxyzine? First, it takes a while for ribavirin to leave your body, and second, once an itch grabs hold, it is like the itch receptors have a mind of their own - the original cause may be gone, but the cells still itch. Here are a few suggestions: http://www.hepmag.com/articles/2512_10798.shtml#skin
