GOOD NEWS....12 wk EOT and NO HCV!!!!!
« on: April 09, 2015, 01:42:15 pm »
I am undetected!!

Halleluiah!

I have another bloodtest at 24 weeks EOT but I'm certain this beast is dead!!

I am thrilled to say the least!!!!!!  I was on Harvoni for 12 weeks and it did the job it was supposed to do!
I feel great ..... and so very thankful.    Honestly......the first 2 treatments i did were horrendous (ribavirin and peg) harvoni was a breeze in the park.   I even took a trip the last week I was on it.   WHAT A MIRACLE DRUG!!!!!     You may think harvoni is making you feel bad but TRUST ME....it's nothing compared to 48 weeks on peg+RIB WHICH many of us have done several times...that was pure hell!

Count your blessings if you never did that treatment.  Harvoni is our miracle drug and it works!!!!   I was a non-responder 2 times before......and finally am virus free after 40 years with HCV!!! PRAISE GOD!!
 8) :D :)

Great Job!  Congrats.

ARe you the first official SVR 12 on the board from Harvoni?

I know what you mean about the previous tx.  Barf, blah awful stuff!!!!   I did 72 weeks and it was terrible.  Then relapsed.   Lost 40 lbs (down to 120 lbs from 160) and was already skinny.  Could hardly walk up stairs by the end.  People that have only dealt with Harvoni have no clue how lucky they are, the sides are nothing compared to the old tx.

I'm not sure but I don't think I have Hep C any more.
I'm going to test it again in 2 weeks at the lab I was Und at on week 7 of 8. :)

Kate.....good luck to you....will be watching for your results.
Luckey...yes <15 is what mine said too!
Charly.....I know I'm close.   I was the first one who told my hepatologist Harvoni was approved.     He wrote the prescription immediately!     And i started a few days later.

Still can't believe how great this is for all of us!   I'm going to keep believing it's gone for good.   If it does come back.....there are other treatment options that are good too.

I am stalking my labs web page lol, thank god i have a ton to do this w/e so i don't blow up my computer  :-[.
this is going to be my new favorite page so we can watch us all get there (go us)! I am my doctors first pt on harvioni so i know he is probably stalking the fax machine also. I wanted to retreat with s/o after i relapsed but he actually would not let me, he told me he wanted to wait for the "next" meds coming out. I was frustrated with him at the time but now look where we are.
Jilly i hope you are doing something fun/warm this w/e to celebrate your new life  :)

still waiting

Sunrise....yes SVR sister!!!!    So you are undetected still! praise God!!!!!!!   This is so fantastic that we can have our bodies free of this virus.!!!

Kate...it's funny you said fun/warm.......I'm going to Far East Russia (Sea of Okhotsk) for 3 weeks in June and it's going to be FREEZING!   But the wildlife is what I'm after and it's amazing there and not traveled to by many so there won't be much stranger danger hopefully and great for photography!        Then I come home to thaw out and enjoy warm wx!  and hopefully move into my new place this year!
I didn't even remember to check my labs yesterday....my mom was the one who called and said "are your results in?"   I'm living life to the fullest either way......but super grateful this treatment this time worked!

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  Congratulations JillLyn! I clicked on Mikes link and was doing  a happy dance all around my living room.  I am so happy to see another SVR, it gives us hope and such enjoyment to hear of another dragon being slayed. Enjoy your trip and hope you catch that rare photo to commemorate the victory.
Thank you for sharing the news.

Congratulations! I am doing a 24 week treatment with Sovaldi/Ribaviron. I got my 4 week lab results today. I went from + 9 Million VL to <15. Pretty impressive for 4 weeks. Of course I would rather have been completely undetectable like I have read that some people are, but I know we are kicking this thing's butt! Best of luck to you!

thank you Nicole, Katie, Bubba and Lynn!

It's been a long time coming.   They did send me a 24 week bloodtest to get as well.....I guess just in case.     I still can't believe it's gone for good....I believe it, but I don't believe it because it was so easy with the Harvoni.

It's like come on....the RIB/INT nearly killed me twice.....Harvoni a piece of cake and my Hep C is gone???????      It doesn't make sense but it doesn't have to as long as it stays gone!

And just for today.........I am rejoicing, praising God and going to enjoy this beautiful spring day and keep all of you close in my thoughts!

I'll still be here because I want to see how you all are doing.    This community is so supportive and means a lot to me.    We've walked the walk together....and I don't want to stop walking with you!

Much love and hope you have a great day!

My 12 wk EOT and 4 wks post treatment labs were both UND and my doc says she fully expects my final labs in September will be the same - I even had to ask her to repeat the other labs as she felt it was only necessary to reaffirm the viral load UND portion.  Since I still have to read and re-read my results to "believe it can really be true", she humored me and rewrote the order for September to include everything lol  I expect all of us feel like pinching ourselves to believe we're finally free of that monstrous dragon..

God bless and keep us all.  ...Islandgirl 8)

I know this may not be the place for me to start my first Forum conversation, but I needed to hear some results from treatment.  I am about to start treatment this month if I get approved.  I have had Hep since I was 16, I am now 48.  Just complete my 5th Ironman. But my body hurts and I have to push myself.   I don't really remember what it was like to be normal.  I want to cry when I hear you say (Jill) you are healed.  I am sooooo happy for you.  I know this sounds like a dumb question, but do you feel any different.  No pain? I just want to wake up and feel normal again.  The only people that know I have Hep are just my immediate family.  Feels good to finally talk to or listen to others. Thank you!!!!

THANK you for the inspiration and good news. Congrats!! I think we are all so tired of worrying and thinking about this, so the great news you report is so needed for those of us still on the path, and wonderful and hopeful to hear.  For over 25 years I have had this terrible virus lurking in the back of my mind and my health (although I have tried hard to be positive and proactive).  I/we are sick of this!!  God bless and continue to keep us in your prayers, and in your reports!!!

Well. Finished my Harvoni on 4/2 and found out that I am virus free!  Detected 27 years ago and now finally have that burden behind me.  I had pretty minor side effects and have more energy than ever before.  Thank you for the all the comments on the website, it made me feel I could talk with someone.  No one new my silent journey except for my wife.  Thanks again.  Another dragon slayed.  Good luck everyone and may your treatments be successful.

As a newbie to the family may I say congratulations on a long hard fought battle and well earned victory Jill. Yours is an inspiration to all of us that have fought the battle and are excited about the successes of Harvoni. I am entering my 12 week post tx and have been U/D throughout. Fingers crossed on both the exit blood work I'm currently waiting on and I am scheduled for the 12 week which for me is the final scheduled test. Enjoy your newly recovered life and the trip to Eastern Europe/Russia. I also am a travel nut and am heading for France and on to Italy hiking in Cinque Terre in July very hopefully as the newest SVR!

Take care,
Russ

Everyone sounds so WONDERFUL! So much good news. I finished Harvoni 10 days ago.
Thought everything would go back to "normal" right away, but still feeling tired and have joint pains. Not complaining, just hope to be as lucky as the rest of you. It's been great to follow all you warriors.

Congrats, MoMa and anyone I missed earlier.  I know how you're feeling about thinking you'd be feeling better by now.  I finished 2 months ago and am just now starting to feel more normal.  Still tire out too easily, but full of joy to be UND!

Hang in there - I guess we need to be more patient with the process ;D

I just want to have the anemia from the Ribavirin to resolve quickly so I won't be out of breath after a flight of stairs.

So good hearing from you my wildlife buddy!

I am feeling good with small, very subtle improvements.  My energy level isn't all that good and I fade in the afternoon, but am still getting things done.  My remodel went well and I am upholstering the day bed in Tie Dye making the already bright room very cheery.  Having a ball doing the final touch ups and organization.  Bedroom turned out beautiful.

As for the improvements...last couple weeks, no ache in my liver gallbladder area, skin in smoothing and little bumps disappearing (that I have had for years) and then I had this one itchy area that would bleed on and off on my neck and even had a biopsy on it probably 5 years ago since I have a history of basal cell on my face, and it is GONE!  It was just one of those small irritating things but I really think as insignificant as these are it shows that my liver is doing it's job.  I go in for a blood draw today.  Ready to leave the house and I saw your post.  I am nervous and anxious and hopeful and looking forward to getting on with my life.  No matter what the results, Harvoni was a blessing and I have felt better than I have in YEARS.  I get the results on the 27th so I am hoping we can do a Happy Dance together, along with Island Girl, Paul, Nicole, Kate and everyone else who has conquered the alien parasitic dragon giving hope to everyone on this miracle treatment!!

Have a good week and talk to you soon!   8)

Hi all, I am only 3 days off meds and I am occasionally getting twinges of liver pain. I haven't had that since 4 weeks into meds. I'm really worried that it's the virus coming back already. Did anyone else have this?

Hi CE...I had a mild ache on and off during treatment and then the first couple weeks after.  It is gone now for several weeks.  I wouldn't worry at this point as I figure the liver is kicking into gear, and it may be your gallbladder and not even your liver!

Have you gotten your EOT tests back?

Hang in there!  The waiting can be a difficult time but you aren't alone.

I see the doc on the 1st. I'll get my EOT results then. I feel fine except for that all to familiar discomfort in the liver area. Unfortunately for us geno 3's, there is no alternative if this fails. That worries me too. I do hope it's just withdrawal pains.

Hi All,
My question today is have we heard of anyone  relapsing after being undetected at EOT. I know Harvoni is relatively new but I have not read of anyone relapsing on this forum. Am I correct in this observation?

A few have been detected at EOT with uncountable or very low viral load...   me included (<12 IU/mL)...and one has gone forward to be undetected at 11 weeks post treatment.  YAY  They have found, being a strong responder but still detected at EOT does not mean you will not clear the virus altogether and that is amazing news.

I just had my blood drawn today for a ~ 8 week post treatment and am keeping my fingers crossed.  I don't think there have been any relapses that have been reported but most haven't been off treatment 12 weeks (they are just now coming in) and none for 24 weeks so we'll have to wait and see.  Right now everything looks very promising.

Here's to the alien parasitic monster being annihilated, forever!

Congratulations!  That means your test's sensitivity is 15 IU/mL so it can only count 15 or more virus, however the test does not detect any virus below it.  That is VERY good news, but continue with your treatment as there could be some hiding out somewhere that could replicate again!  You are well on your way to a complete cure, so keep doing what you are doing!   8)

Thank you Katie. My nurse told me I was "undetected" but I thought (<15) meant I still had some of the virus in me. I will keep on target with my treatment for 7 more weeks. Feeling very fortunate to be taking this drug.  8)

KC:  The tests vary.  They have a level they can count and a level they can detect.  It doesn't necessarily mean it is at zero if it isn't detected, but being such a strong responder at 5 weeks indicates you will remain undetected.  Harvoni is incredible and working so well for so many.  Keep the faith and be good to yourself.

Thanks Kate!  I am so happy for you.  I am feeling good too, but still really tired even though I am sleeping well.  Absolutely no endurance.  I haven't been eating as well as I should because I run out of steam and don't feel like cooking.  That's not like me as I love to cook so I had a talk with myself today and am going to do better at that.  Salmon and salad tonight whether I feel like it or not!  HA!
