Hi All
New to this forum, but I'm glad to have found it.
I went thru the pegylated interferon ribavirin back in 2006/2007 ,what a horrible time that was. Final blood work back and so was the hepc. Fast forward to this year and Harvoni is on the table just approved  here in Canada in January. My Dr. was very excited about this new drug and she wanted me to start as soon as I could get coverage for the cost. ($75000 12wks) Fortunately I have a good insurance company at work.
Picked up the first bottle all $25000 worth ,thats the most expensive thing I've ever had in my pocket was nervous carrying it around. Any way seen my Dr. she went thru the does and don'ts set me up with a calendar for all of my blood work and appointments.Took the  the first pill on Tuesday April 28th. Nothing noted as to side effects, day 2 tired by the end of the  day bit of a headache, but not bad. Day 3 now more tired and energy level is down still with a mild headache. I've gotten myself in better shape this last 6 months in preparation for this treatment. Lost 46lbs and can almost see my abs if the light is just right.I guess overall its still not bad. It was on the 4th or 5th day that the side effects from the peg-inter/rib really started to kick in. I still have that in the back of my mind. Feel like I'm rambling a bit so I'll just say  Good luck to everyone else out there going thru this adventure . Take care Joe

Not uncommon to get headaches, tiredness and even diarrhea for this first couple of weeks. The motto here is, drink lots of water, daily. Rest whenever possible. Side effects seem to come and go and for the most part don't burden you too much. I am diabetic and found that my blood glucose levels crashed on occasion with Harvoni. Several of us have experienced weight gain, so watch your weight. Stick to the plan and the odds, overwhelmingly, are in your favor.

I used to get easily agitated during the first two weeks. Now it's mostly gastro stuff. Looking forward to being done.
