Treatment Options for Advanced Cirrhosis
« on: April 29, 2015, 12:54:30 pm »
Various combinations of Sovaldi, Olysio and ribavirin have shown moderate promise in curing people with genotype 1 or 2 of hepatitis C who have decompensated cirrhosis--characterized as having a MELD score of 10 or higher.

In a recent clinical study "HCV-TARGET", 74% (18/24) of people with genotype 2 who took Sovaldi + ribavirin for 12 or 16 weeks, achieved an SVR at 4 weeks.

77% (55/71) of those with genotype 1 who took Sovaldi + Olysio for 12 weeks, achieved an SVR4, as did 81% (13/16) of those with genotype 1 who took Sovaldi, Olysio and ribavirin for 12 weeks.
