Took my last Harvoni yesterday
« on: May 01, 2015, 07:52:55 pm »
I took my last Harvoni yesterday and had the EOT blood test today. My doctor doesn't do during treatment tests. I haven't had a VL test since I started Harvoni twelve weeks ago so I'm sweating this one. It's going to be a long time until the end of next week and the results are in.  :(

It was strange not taking that Harvoni today and not having to plan for it. Now if these side affects will just go away soon. One that I for sure won't miss is at  about 4 1/2 hours after I take a Harvoni it was like a switch was flipped and I was so sleepy and tired I couldn't stay up. This started 4 1/2 hours after my first Harvoni  and went through the last one yesterday, to a greater or lessor degree except for 3 days scattered out.

your test will be not detected. You don't to sweat this one even if it is less than 15 detected you still don't need to.

Only the 12 week post matters.

Alright, this is stupid. I've been asleep or wanted to go to sleep for three month on the Harvoni (I could have easily slept 10 or 12 hours a day. Now, 36 hours after my last Harvoni I can't go to sleep, even though my eyes burn from lack of sleep. I guess my body adapted somewhat to that Harvoni side affect. Oh well, as Roseanne Roseannadanna once said "It's always something!". 8)

Congrats on finishing david! Onward to SVR...

Woo-hoo @Lynn !!

Interesting, David, that you mentioned sleep as I had the opposite reaction. I could not fall asleep and used atarax every nite while on therapy----but now that I'm off Harvoni(since April 19), I'm falling asleep much faster and sleeping deeply until the middle of the nite when I wake up---wide awake--for just a little while. Weird, eh? How we all respond differently.

Geno 1a. IL28B+ with TT polymorphism.
Diagnosed 1993.
Liver Biopsy 1993 --inflammation.
Fibroscan 2014---no fibrosis.
ALT range---60s
AST range---80s.
Platelets: 200K range.
Viral load--2 million range.

Began Harvoni on January 23.
Finished 12 week course on April 19.

May 18---4 week EOT labs:
VL: UNDETECTED.
AST: 23
ALT: 22...........These have not been this low throughout treatment and since my 20s.

12 weeks EOT on July 15---Undetected.

I also have been having insomnia since starting Harvoni almost 4 weeks ago. My doctor prescribed Zopiclone 7.5 mg, but I am only taking 1/2 a pill every night and it seems to do the trick.

@gramsgirl. I'm glad you're getting relief for the insomnia.  I forgot to add that even though the atarax was helpful, it wasn't a deep sleep. It probably had some to do with my profound fatigue during therapy.  There were other factors, for sure, but I think it had its role.

Rest well.
