How's life afterward?
« on: April 03, 2015, 11:38:51 pm »
Just finishing day two of a 12 week Harvoni adventure. Being hopeful and positive, I'm looking for reports from those who are SVR12 or more, (or less?)...something to look forward to. Even though some/many of you might be in my age group, (I'm 65), and even though just being that age has 'some' effects...what clearly noticeable improvements have you noticed, compared to the last oh, 5-10 years?   Of course, even if you haven't noticed even one improvement, I'm still thrilled about the very real possibility of being virus-free for the rest of my life.  Thanks for your input!

I am on week 10 of treatment with Sovaldi/Olysio like Harvoni. I have noticed around week three a clearer state of mind. My mental awareness was much better. The hepc c brain fog was different. I went SVR at week four blood test. I also, felt more energy for the first time in many years like 25+ years.  I am 64 years old and fell a lot better on treatment. I do have sinus headaches and joint pain from the treatment but overall much better.

Best of luck and drink plenty of water, it WILL help.
Warm Thanks, Vintag54

Sleeping better, more energy, better mood, much clearer in the head, many fewer aches and pains including the disappearance of that sporadic but nagging upper right quadrant pain, palms less red .....   And that's just for starters  :)

Hi Vintag54

Did you mean you became undetected at week 4?

SVR means sustained viral response after treatment has ended. For example SVR12 means that 12 weeks after you have completed treatment you still test as virus not detected. SVR24 means 24 weeks after completing treatment your viral load is not detected.

Good luck on treatment wishing you SVR forever!

I'm into my 11th week on Harvoni and feel great.  The first couple of weeks I had tolerable side effects but now I cannot detect any.  I work out, eat healthy and drink at least a gallon of water daily.
