Fibroscan results... No liver damage

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my fibroscan results done last week.  I had a Dr. visit yesterday, results came back with no liver damage. I am so happy .  I started the dual treatment interferon and ribasphere in October 2013 then completed the 24 week therapy March 2014.

So, your FibroScan score is F0?

My understanding (which could be incorrect) is that if someone has Hep C, then by definition the best Metavir score ("F-score") that they can get from FibroScan is "F0-F1", not "F0".

and in particular see the diagram near the bottom of the page, "Fibroscan scoring card".  Here (appended) is a copy of that diagram.  Notice that the kPa score (ie, the result from Fibroscure) has different interpretations, based on what ailment one is diagnosed with (Hep C, NAFLD, etc).   For the horizontal line which defines Hep C values, the lowest score is "F0-F1".   In other words, with Hep C, the Fibroscan will never declare you to be F0, no matter how low your kPa score is.

I am a very happy woman and proud of my accomplishments.
I had hcv since 1984 and I am cured.  I want to thank all of you for your support and interests on my posts.  I struggled during the duration of the dual treatment which was  unbearable, but I did it.  I was in college and I continued to achieve my studies in accounting.  Determination and persistence kept me focused.  Medication and studies....  Now I just received my A.S. in accounting and I am so proud.  I am cured and a new life for me has just begun... Whoo Hooo!

well i have hep c and my fibroscan was F0 so I don't know where you get that it is F0 - F1 because obviously someone with hep c can have F0

I dont think Apache was saying you cant be F0 with HCV.. What was being said was that if you look at the Fibroscan scoring on the link that was posted, you will find that the color representing the lowest score decodes to an F0-F1 for HCV.   And if you look at it yourself, thats what you will find.  It's unfortunate that the diagram that was posted cut off the decoded values.. But go to the link; there youll find what we are talking about.

But in the end, the difference doesnt really matter much. With both F0 and F0-F1, youre not considered to have liver disease.

Yes i see that link now. I would have to say that with a score of 0 - 1.0 and mine was .08 not even a tenth - that I was extremely pleased with that and an A0. So i was F0 and A0. Guess it doesnt get any better than that unless my test showed 0. lol  Congrats to all with positive results from treatment, and little damage done.

It's unfortunate that the diagram that was posted cut off the decoded values.. But go to the link; there youll find what we are talking about.

Actually... the diagram that was posted did include the values.  They're not cut off, they're on the right side of the diagram.  However if one's browser window is now wide enough, then one will see a scroll bar at the bottom of the diagram.  Scroll, and you'll see the F0-F1, etc. legend on the right side of the diagram.
