Harvoni
« on: July 21, 2015, 02:30:56 pm »
Newbie here.....

I started Harvoni about 6 weeks ago.  After my first 28 days my viral load went from 3.5 million to less than 15.  My Liver Functions tests were normal for the first time since I contracted/diagnosed and or had LFTs on a recurring basis.  I know the goal is not detectable and hopefully the next test will be there.   No side effects that I've noted.

Genotype 1A.

Thanks, Rascal

That's fantastic, Rascal.  I think I read somewhere on these forums that the viral test doesn't go below 15 on labs reports.

Quote
A result of "<15 IU/mL (<1.18 log IU/mL)" indicates that HCV RNA is detected, but the HCV RNA level present cannot be quantified accurately below this lower limit of quantification of this assay.

In other words, I'm pretty sure your considered clinically "virus undetected" right now! Add that to normal liver function tests and I'd start celebrating immediately.  ;D

Best of luck in completing your course of treatment - you've totally got this.  8)

Hi different labs may report differently this was my 4 week post test result for reference

Component Results

Component   Standard Range   Your Value

HCV RNA RT-PCR, QT   See Notes IU/mL   See Below
HCV Not Detected

HCV QNT TEST INFO   See Notes   See Below

The quantitative range of the assay is 15 IU/mL to 100 million IU/mL
using COBAS(R) TaqMan(R) HCV test, v 2.0. The limit of detection (LOD)
and lower limit of quantification (LLOQ) for this assay is 15 IU/mL.
Results less than the quantitative range of the assay will be reported
as "HCV RNA detected, less than 15 IU/mL".
