Help with Test Results
« on: July 18, 2015, 12:43:09 pm »
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share so many of you have been an inspiration to me on more than one occasion during the 5 weeks I have been on Harvoni.

Today I start start week six of an eight week TX of Harvoni. My Doctor is out of town for the next month but I was able to get a copy of my week four results from the lab. Initially my doctor told me my viral load was 6.5 million to start. Can someone who has the back ground to read the results tell me exactly what it means? I want to assume my VL decreased to a point where it can't be quantified by the test parameters. I know the virus was still detected.

HCV RNA PCR Qnt Int   Not Detected   Detected   A (flag)

Not Quantified - HCV RNA was detected, but at a level below
1.2 log IU/mL (15 IU/mL).

Virus detected at a level below 1.2 log IU/mL cannot be accurately quantified by this assay.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Again thanks to all of you and God Bless.

That's pretty much how the majority of VL tests read. There may be a few stragglers left in your system, but the Harvoni will knock them out in short order!

Your VL dropped from 6.5 million to below a quantifiable level in 4 weeks!

You should view these results as great news! Really, really great news!!!

Congrats, Reno. Looks like another dragon has been slayed!

Best wishes, Mike

Reno,

I'm so glad the medication is working for you and everyone else!

I've been on the same road and it is so nice when the HCV journey is over and we can rest in peace from this trip!

Best wishes, Mike
