Pharmacy Refused to send me my refill
« on: August 26, 2015, 12:18:11 am »
I received a text to get my last refill sent to my home, so I called the number and the woman on the other end of the line said I didn't have any refills left. Ummmm...YES I DO..she said I am sorry ma'am but no you don't...if I could have reached through the phone and punched this woman, I would have. I said hold on just a second, took a deep breath and returned to the line. I said rather sternly let me speak to a supervisor. Ok, supervisor Mike got on the phone and said no refills...Holy Shit I thought I was going to stroke out. Being a manager of a large company and having 5 children I verify and reverify everything and have a file with a copy of every order and test result I have had. I read the prescription request, approval, who and when they were done. Supervisor Mike rudely told me they would look into this and get back with me in a few days! That did it!!! I went off! I told "Mike" that I wasn't ordering a hot water heater, this is my life, and I am not getting off the phone until you "Mike" look at the original script, which I have a copy in my hand, and fix this. Now Mike...I am no rocket scientist or mathematician,,but you just told me that my script calls for 3 bottles of 28 pills and you have sent me 2...3 minus 2 is 1 Mike...right? Well... Apparently some tech went into my file at Express scripts and deleted my refill !! Oops I am sorry ma'am..I told him he should be required to send me 2 Xanax pills in my refill box that they are sending overnight...
My point is...thank goodness I make copies of all my orders and tests.  I am pretty sure "Mike "and express scripts prefer I not call them again. I would like to know though...how did someone access my file and delete my refill and then not take it seriously..and then talking to me like I didn't know what I was talking about Uggggggg

I have seen Express scripts Facebook page they are not loved by many. I had my own difficulties with them also 6 months of Harvoni 6 months of dealing with their "service"

https://www.facebook.com/ExpressScripts

" How can your company name be "Express Scripts" when you are the slowest mail order pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure in using? EVERY time I have to get a refill it takes at least a MONTH to get my medication. I run out well ahead of time and "

"To get any meds from E.S. better start 3 months ahead of when they're needed!"

Thanks for the post Lynn, I am just hoping  if this happens to other people that they will go the route I did and not accept no for an answer. I work in management and the best thing people can do is NOT let them get off the phone and ask for a supervisor and wait on hold while they pull up the original script. It's just not acceptable to have complications because some part time clerk hit a wrong button on the computer. These are our lives, we are not talking about products ordered from Amazon.com for Christmas.

I'm so glad you got that worked out.  That's a really scary feeling.  I had a similar feeling when the delivery company claimed attempted delivery when no one came to my house.  Being proactive (and prepared) in this process is in our best interest.

I'll spare the details but from finally getting the treatment - major journey - to receiving each month's medication to dealing with the doctor, pharmacies and deliveries, my experience has been fraught with hiccups.  I have been proactive every step of the way... at times I felt pushy but I have to advocate for myself... it's that important.

As of last Friday, which included a mistaken delivery fiasco of the meds with a new delivery guy (and several phone calls to corporate delivery company and a panic attack on my part - is this really happening)....I finally have the last bottle in my hands!  It was hot when I finally got it but I'm just going to trust that it's o.k.  Whew!

Wow, that would have really scared me with the delivery mix up. I don't think the medicine getting hot should be a problem. From what I read it would have to be extremely hot for an extended period of time. Glad you have your last bottle in hand, I received mine this morning.
