No Side Effects Until After 5th Week...Am I Alone?
« on: January 29, 2016, 05:33:05 pm »
Hi Friends!

I did fine the first 5 weeks.  A few headaches at the beginning, but that was all.  I started my 6th week and I'm a mess.  No energy, foggy, walk around in a daze, sometimes nauseous, sleeping badly.   I spoke with the nurses at Dartmouth where I am being treated and they just told me everyone feels differently.  Not much help there.  They were wondering if it was something else.  I sure hope not because I'm hoping I will feel better after I'm done with therapy.  I'm only on an 8 week therapy because my liver function has always been in the high normal range and my viral load was 400,000.  I found out yesterday that my 4 week labs showed my VL as "not detected", so I'm very excited, but feel so horrible, and I guess misery is looking for company.

Hi Sinkers. Are you on 8 weeks of Harvoni, I assume? Congrats on reaching undetected! :)

As for the crappy feeling that has developed, be sure you keep drinking lots of water daily. Fortunately you have less than 3 weeks remaining. You can pretty much count the days at this point.

Good luck! :)

Hi Sinkers,
If you read some of the other posts those are pretty standard sxs.I was on the Viekira and did pretty good, but they started to show up more towards my EOT.My brain got scrambled for a few weeks after treatment but it's starting to sort itself now. You're definitely not alone. It's taking some people time for their bodies to adjust to it at EOT but it does get better.Congratulations on the undetectable, and remember this isn't forever.

That was about the point that my side effects set in. Same ones plus my calves hurt and ached even at night in bed. Waking hours: I felt like I was walking through peanut butter. I got the sweats, had to nap daily...on and on. I did the 12 week run and the effects stayed intense. Now, almost a year post treatment I'm pretty good. The majority of the effects ended or dropped way off when the tx ended. You'll be glad you hung in. So great that you cleared so fast!
