Cough and fatigue. Taking Harvoni
« on: August 23, 2015, 07:10:35 pm »
I have wanted to get on the forum more often but I have to work a minimum of 9 hours a day and I have at least 2 hours of commuting time (I know, poor me). I'm 32 days into Harvoni (by itself). About 2 weeks ago I started coughing. It has progressively gotten worse. 6 years ago I did a regimen of Peg + Ribarivin. I quickly developed a cough that was so bad I HAD to stop. Anyway, if this cough gets as bad as the other cough it will be very tough but I plan on sticking it out. My only other problem is chronic fatigue. This only started about 10 days ago. It is annoying but I can handle it. Are these things common with others?

The cough isn't common - the fatigue is - have you talked to your doc about this?

Hi Lucinda, yes and he said pretty much what you said. I tried a regimen of Peg and ribavirin about 12 years ago and came down with a worse cough than I have now. I attributed the cough to the ribavirin because I had used interferon twice before with no cough. As far as the fatigue goes, it is really up and down. Some days I feel great and other days I fight to stay awake.
