Hi Mia. Infection in this situation would be very unlikely, as far as I know, UNLESS your blood was on your toothbrush AND your daughter had some open sores, cuts, or wounds in her own mouth as well. Others here may have more information.

Hi Mia,
You remind me if me. I was paranoid about my kids getting it. It's actually pretty hard to pass on HCV unless it was dripping with blood and you daughter had a cut so deep it required stitches. So settle and calm. You are not Typhoid Mary. I believe she will be fine. Scientifically it just makes no sense for her to get infected.
I know it's scary. Are you going to treat soon? Cal :)

Thank you very much, 2 yrs ago I traveled to visit my family in Turkmenistan , and my tooth hurt me and went to dentist and got infected there, find out when I got pregnant, went to Infectious DR he said should come after labor or after I'm done breast feeding, my baby 6 mo old now about to quit breast feeding and will go to doctor to get treated of course if my insurance will qualify , otherwise don't know what to do, don't want to put my family in to risk. I have 3 kids 4yrs,3 yrs,6 mo old .

Mia,
If you're newly infected you have time on your side to treat. Look after your babies first and take the advice of your Doctor. See what insurance will cover. I am in Australia so I am not up on U.S. insurance and care and access for those not insured etc. But I know from the others that there are options so don't worry.
Treat when you have support. Just in case you have some fatigue or side effects, you may have off days. You may not either. But suppo0rt will be important. You also have this forum. We'll support you too.
But it's a totally treatable virus now. So sorry that you got infected like that. But you will treat and this will be a bad distant memory. You'll be fine Mia and so will the kids. Cal  :)
