Harvoni Making Me Clumsy
« on: November 19, 2015, 03:31:23 pm »
Anybody else experience this?

I've only been on Harvoni for a week. It has made me moody, gave me a night of insomnia, made me jittery (like coffee), and made it stupidly difficult to stick to my diet (so I'm putting that on hold for now). I've adjusted my sleep patterns and diet and most of that seems to be ok now.

But it also made me really clumsy. I wasn't expecting that. Normally, I'm not the most coordinated, but I do okay unless I'm really tired. But I haven't felt tired. Still, in the last week, I have: banged my head on things about 3 times, dropped a glass jar and broke it, cut myself on the glass while trying to clean it up, broke a piece of the blind as I was trying to clean it, made several stupid mistakes while trying to following recipes, etc. Those are just the ones I remember.

Is this part of the "fatigue" even though I don't feel tired? Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm a do-er. I have tons of projects (some involving using woodworkshop power tools) that I want to do, but I think I'm going to wait until after I'm done with Harvoni because the number of stupid mistakes I'm making is just horrendous.

It made me clumsy too. I was knocking over glasses of water, dropping things (sometimes breakable things). Bumping into things a bit. Just not gauging distances and clearances properly. I would go to put a glass down and release it when it was still 1/2" off the table, thinking I had arrived. Stuff like that. I particularly noticed this in the beginning of treatment. Not so much toward end. But I do recall consciously retraining myself to not assume I could carry/juggle handfuls of dishes, groceries, whatever the way I normally would. It's just temporary.

Hi Talia, don't pick up the power tools just yet! I felt the same way like I was wasting time on the floor ( literally)when I could be more constructive. You are only a week in & your body is getting used to the new normal. I think all my clumsies went away after a few weeks  so hang on it's going to get better.

Talia, forgot to mention about the insomnia. I have found frankincence essential oil to be amazing for that among a ton of other great things. I put a drop on bottom of feet at night & bam sleep right through.

I would think about doing just 8 weeks if I could do it over....... the medicine is so toxic..... that after the virus is gone  in 4 to 8 weeks taking it longer just may cause chaos in certain peoples bodies............. like I think happened to me   similar to Hope4Cure.............  people with little damage early on should have waited for a better drug... I think.........

Hey Mr.Bob, I sure wish I had been talking to you when I was panicked about not getting 3rd month of Harvoni.I had read a thread on the forum where people were posting their results & the 8 wkers where we're not doing as well as the 12 wkers.I was not having too many sides &wasn't thinking the med was toxic. Next week is 12 wk. labs....starting to see the light in the tunnel.
