My Neuro-Ophthalmologist is Perplexed
« on: December 26, 2015, 09:00:05 am »
This was an answer to some one else's post but, it's old so, I'm reposting this on here as a new topic.>> I'm having eye problems too and am looking for anybody having issues like this. The little red bumps under the eye lids is from Optic Nerve swelling causing vessels to burst in the eye.. I'm have issues with both eyes but, my right is worse. I'm having a specialist (WELL 4 specialists) trying to get to the bottom of this whole thing. I'm very scared right now. The swelling isn't going down. All of this started after starting the Harvoni. Now it's bad. My blood pressure is now up and down. It was 165/96 at one time. I never had any issues with my eyes or blood pressure---ever!! Please, anybody having issues like this let me know please!! I did clear the virus and am very grateful because of that but, at what cost?? This is the medical term coming from my Neuro-Ophthalmologist::** Central Retinal Vein Occlusion** Also, he asked me if I wanna get back on it so, he can tell if that's it doing it to me----SO FREAKING LOST RIGHT NOW

Freaking out may increase your blood pressure, something you can't afford right now. See if you can take a step back, find a way to tap into a calm part of you who will help you through this puzzling upset. Don't get me wrong, being freaked out is what I'd do too, but sometimes I can talk myself down a notch with little reminders that getting too upset isn't going to improve the situation.

Although the connection with Harvoni seems like an obvious correlation, there are other causes (diabetes for instance). 1) be sure your doc has a complete medical history 2) Have your doc (or you, or both) call Gilead's medical expert http://www.mysupportpath.com/

I did all the investigating necessary!! There are no reasonable explanations yet. Its very easy for someone to say: Calm down take it easy--look for other things. Im not sugar coating this thing,, ok!! I'm only interested in people that are having this same problem. Please don't tell me what I should be looking for--PLEASE!! If you have this same problem, please contact me---if not, then do not say things that are not relevant.
