Taking last Viekira pill tonight - how will I feel tomorrow?
« on: January 12, 2016, 08:19:24 pm »
Hi,
Wow, it's been 3 months and I'm taking my final Viekira evening dose (no ribavirin) tonight. Is there any kind of Viekira withdrawal, can I expect to feel any effects from the shock of suddenly stopping taking it? Anyone else who took Viekira without riba who can share their experience with that transition off the drug?

Thanks so much, this forum has been such an unbelievable resource! Before I found it I had a lot of trouble finding really useful info. Honestly doctors should send people home with this URL after the first visit!

Congrats on finishing, Ian! I didn't take Viekira, so can't help with your Viekira withdrawal question. But just wanted to welcome you across the finish line. :)

I did 24 weeks of VP with riba. I felt better every day that passed after treatment. Riba made it a bit more noticeable I think, but even so, it was great tone done and gradually feel "normal" again.

Congrats on completing treatment and don't forget to post in the svr12 Viekira thread in Post Treatment !

Thanks, great - I was a bit concerned about a withdrawal, but I suppose stopping the meds is more of a relief for your body than a shock. So it's not like your traditional withdrawal people experience when stopping taking recreational drugs.

Thanks again!
Ian
