Is there a difference in Undetected or Negative?

Everyone here and other boards are all saying undetected. My doctor says my viral load is negative. Was waiting for that one word "Undetected" so it took me back for a second. Means the same thing right?

Perhaps your doctor thought s/he was simplifying things by using the word negative. You are entitled to a printout of your lab results. That's the best way to find out exactly what it says.

I agree with gnatty they probably were just trying to speak to you in layman's terms but that only ends up being confusing. I have access to everything on "MyChart" since I started going to my current doctor.

This is what my lab report says. I copied it from "MyChart". It does not say undetected or negative. When asked I always say my result as "Not Detected" I guess different labs could use different terminology. But I think mostly it is just a lot of us here may say "undetected" vs "not detected"

My doc said unmeasurable <25 ;) Now that is not negative and not undetected, this was after 27 tabs on Harvoni

My doctor uses Lab Corp.

Anyway my thought is negative, undetected, not detected, unmeasurable or what have you are all synonyms for the same thing

LabCorp is who my dr. Goes through too. Waiting to release the results on nextmd.com. thanks for taking the time everyone.
