Wanted: Looking for a Man
« on: January 04, 2016, 02:51:00 pm »
OK, now that I have your attention, I am looking for men to submit their Hep Stories. I'll take stories from all people, male or female, regardless if cured or not. However, I really need stories from men. You don't need to be a good writer - just a willing one. We'll help with the story. Submit stories to: http://www.hepmag.com/hep_stories.shtml
Lucinda Porter, RN
1988 Contracted HCV
1997 Interferon nonresponder
2003 PEG + ribavirin responder-relapser
2013 Cured (Harvoni + ribavirin clinical trial)

Hahahahah.. Lucy you are so funny.. You already have my story.. I am now cured.  But lately I have been really really tired and achy... thought it's not the same.  I'm thinking it's just some other bug floating around the sick building I live in... Not much sun happening, wood smoke fumes in the air, grey and rainy.. I figure a few days of sun basking and a 5 mile walk would do me good, but that ain't going to happen for a while.. Victoria weather is horrid this time of year.  I am due for my 24wk post treatment blood work at the end of Feb, and even though I am feeling yuck right now, I'm pretty sure I will be HCV neg!!!   Anyways:  keep doing what you do.. All the best CD

CD (David), I just read your hep story -- you are a terrific writer! To anyone who wants to read CD's story without having to hunt through all the hep stories, here is the direct link: https://www.hepmag.com/article/cd-mazoff-26598-2025995213  Oh, and if you're considering submitting your own story, it doesn't have to be anywhere near that long and complex (mine was very short).

Sorry, Kim, I can't because it is under my actual name. I use a pseudonym here on the forums so that I can freely reference any of my many diagnoses, etc. whenever doing so will be helpful to someone. I don't want all of that health information to be pulled up if someone Googles my name.

If you do read a bunch of hep stories and realize which one is mine, please keep the ID to yourself. Thanks!

I hear ya, Gnatty. Privacy is important for so many reasons. And I will certainly keep your real ID private if by any chance I do read your story and realize it's 'you'. ;)

cheers,
