miss dose
« on: April 08, 2016, 03:32:43 am »
Hello everyone,
I usually take my SOF+DCV every night around 9:00 PM. I have been on schedule for 74 days until last night. I forget to take the combo until this morning at 8:00 AM. Should I take my next dose at 9:00 PM tomorrow night or 8:00 AM tomorrow morning?
Many thanks for advise.
John

Hi John, I found this on a thread here. It may answer your question:

"TaKe HARVONI exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take it. Do not change your dose unless your healthcare provider tells you to.
 Do not stop taking HARVONI without first talking with your healthcare provider. If you think there is a reason to stop taking HARVONI, talk to your healthcare provider before doing so.
 Take HARVONI 1 time each day.
 Take HARVONI with or without food.
 If you miss a dose of HARVONI, take the missed dose as soon as you remember the same day. Do not take more than 1 tablet of HARVONI in a day. Take your next dose of HARVONI at your regular time the next day."

Hi crackerjohn,

just saw Philadelphia's response while posting this so if you follow the "only one dose per day" strictly then you should probably change the timing of your doses to 8.00am.

But the usual recommendation I have seen is that if you take your missed dose within 18 hours then you should take the next one at the normal time which for you would be 9.00pm tonight. I would not advise delay to 9.00pm tomorrow which would create two 36 hour gaps in a row.

Thank you, according to this I should take my next dose tomorrow 9:00 PM. Correct?

Sorry if I find this a bit funny.  During my 12 weeks of tx, there were about 5 times when I had to count all of the pills in the bottle backwards in time.  This was complicated by the fact that, with all of my travel, I hid emergency doses in my back pack, toiletry bag etc.  I was quite neurotic about it.  From what I had heard a double dose, was borderline overdose for some people and I feared completely skipping a day could give the virus a comeback advantage.  I had to laugh at myself.

Anyway, the one time I actually figured out I did forget, I did as they say and took the dose right away which was in the early evening (I always took it between 9:30 Am and 12 noon) and then I took the next dose splitting the time difference the following day and worked back to my time scheduled.

Probably not that big of a deal in retrospect.

I admit I am paranoid on this. I end up doing the same thing like you: I took the next dose splitting the time difference the following day and worked back to my time scheduled.
