Harvoni is awesome!!
« on: June 12, 2016, 10:13:04 pm »
Hey all, I posted here back in Aug of 2014 when I first found out I had Hep C. You were all very helpful. I wanted to just reply to that post, but was told it was too old and to start a new post, haha.
I still kept seeing my regular Dr. and decided not to seek out a specialist. She was very interested in my case and did a lot of reading up on it. I did a lot of research on my own. We just continued to monitor my liver and did regular blood tests.
But Im happy to say, I finally started treatment with Harvoni on May 13, 2016. I dont have insurance and was able to get approved by Gileads support path. So the whole treatment is free!! We did a viral load test right before I started and it was 150,000. The next test was done after about 3 1/2 weeks on Harvoni (on June 4) and my viral load is now <12 UNDETECTABLE!!  ;D Also the rest of the blood test was all normal.
Ive had little to no side effects. A little diarrhea in the beginning, but that seems to have passed now. Nothing else really, that Ive noticed. its like taking a vitamin.
Im so relieved the Hep C is gone.

Hoping for the best for all here.

Jo
