Celebrating Two Years
« on: April 15, 2017, 12:15:13 pm »
I received my undetected status two years ago and looking forward to the days ahead. I had 1b for 35 years and was stage 3. I worked full time and was a single mom and grandmother through it all. I am a survivor! My treatment was 8 weeks Harvoni. After 4 weeks I began having a lot of neuropathy, tinnitus, joint, head and muscle aches. I had persistant crashing fatigue afterwards that has very, very slowly improved over time. I am celebrating today because I dont have "it" hanging over my head anymore. There is not much I have changed about my lifestyle and plan to keep it that way as clean living has done a lot for me.
Cheers!

We are the group that got it when it first hit the market and, for me, that was just a bit scary as there was not a lot of info out there... seemed the trial data wasn't readily available and the people weren't saying a lot. I did a video and kept a diary during tx. The decision for me was a no-brainer, my doc was hesitant, which made me feel uneasy. My motto was "fear not" and I have no regrets or disappointment.

Thank you Lynn and happy (early) 2 years to you too! It's a great feeling. Don't know about you, but I may just celebrate the day every year because it was certainly a life-changing event.

2 years as well now!
Still happy with it.
My liver is recovering from 3-4 to 2 yet!
The only thong is that i'm suffering bad artrose over all my body.
Anyone else has this problem?
Perhaps it has nothing to do with the treatment with sovaldi,  but if more people have this problem it could be possible
on Sofosbuvir & GS-5816 trial since 8 dec '14

Hi omeco

Congrats on your 2 years. Don't know what you mean by "artrose" but hope it gets better.

Yes, congratulations, omeco (and all you other two-year alums)!
I'm guessing "artrose" is "arthritis", since "thong" means "thing" in the same line. If so, I had those kinds of pains before treatment, and I still get them more than a year and a half after the end of treatment.

Gnatty
9/29/71 transfusions
HCV genotype 1a
7/09/15-9/30/15 Harvoni

Before treatment:

ALT 262
AST 217
ALP 183

Most recent:
VL still UNDETECTED (SVR 102)
FibroScan 7.6 kPa [F1-2]

Thank you, omeco. A search engine says "artrosis" in Spanish is "arthrosis" in English which turns out to be another name for "osteoarthritis." Here is an article Arthrosis Vs. Arthritis: What’s The Difference?
http://www.healthline.com/health/arthrosis-vs-arthritis#overview1
Note that the article says, "Your risk of developing it increases with age."
