Welcome, beckybonner2013. Congratulations on clearing hep C on your own! Between your immune system having had to fight off the hep C, your hectic former job, and all the energy it takes to raise two young kids no matter how amazing they are, your stress level must have been through the roof! Unfortunately, unless some doctor has a lucky brainstorm, it may take a while to figure out the cause(s) of so many symptoms. I'm glad you have Mike lawrosa to help you. If you have relatives/friends who could pitch in to give you a day or weekend off from your responsibilities so you could give your body a chance to unwind, it would be useful to know which symptoms are only due to the high level of stress and which symptoms persist even when you can be relaxed. If you can't have a whole day or two of respite, can you indulge in something that soothes you for an hour or two? A bubble bath? Being outdoors in nature? Whatever your "thing" is?

Indeed, you have a lot to live for. Fortunately, one thing that caused you much stress and worry -- hep C -- is over and done with. Just so you know, the hep C antibody test will probably continue to be positive ("reactive") for the rest of your life; all that means is that your immune system made antibodies to hep C when it was fighting it off. The reason the specialist knew you no longer have hep C is that a different test couldn't detect any hep C in your blood sample.

Best wishes,

Gnatty

Sorry to hear about your symptoms.

While you likely will test positive for antibodies for the rest of your life this only means at some point in your life you were exposed to the virus. To confirm current active infection you has a second test for the hep c virus itself which came back negative meaning you do not have hep c.

I hope your doctor is able to get to the cause or causes of your symptoms but whatever is going on it is not cause by hep c as you are not infected with the virus.

Best of luck to you
