Been on Harvoni for 3 weeks now
« on: February 23, 2018, 02:04:12 pm »
38 y/o male here, Diagnosed in late 2006 which i'm guessing i contracted it from a tattoo party I attended sometime in 2004.

I had a biopsy done in 2007 which showed my liver in 100% perfect health. I was told I was young, not a drug user, non smoker, and in decent shape. Dr told me to wait for newer drugs in years to come.

All labs from 2007 until 2018 were always normal and I have always felt 100%. I was approved for Harvoni on the first attempt and thought it was finally time to beat it.

I am on my 3rd week of an 8 week treatment and I must say this has been an absolute breeze thus far. I haven't experienced 1 side effect. Been getting up every morning feeling refreshed, working all day, taking care of the kids after school, eating normal dinners every night, stayed on the same gym schedule and never lost a beat of my everyday normal life before the treatment.

I go for labs next week to see how it's working. My starting VL was 1.9 million, so I can only hope by the lab work next week its possibly undetected.

Fingers crossed!

Glad to know you've opted for treatment and had an easy time with both insurance and  Harvoni. If next week's result=undetected, great. If not, the odds are immensely in your favor that the test 12 weeks after the end of treatment will be undetected=cured.
9/29/71 transfusions

So I had blood work right before starting my 4th week of Harvoni and VL was Undetected!

All Liver functions are in the norm range and still not a single side effect from the Harvoni.
