Is this test not good enough for insurance company's to approve sof/sim.  Fibrospect ll  was f2-f4 with an index score of 86.  Ins denied me meds because I have to be f3-f4.   just got liver biopsy that said f3.  Consistant with fibrospect ll score.  Are they just trying to buy time for cheaper drugs or is this standard procedure?  thanks   trapper

I find it so incredible that some insurance companies want to wait until people have more liver damage before they approve treatment as opposed to approving treatment before one suffers more damage

Imagine if you were diagnosed with stage one cancer and an insurance company denied coverage saying you had to wait until it was stage 2 or 3, or had metastasized. The public would be outraged!

Make an appeal. The law says if a drug is FDA approved it must be covered. The drug assistance programs will also help when this happens. I am in California, my Dr. thought I would have a hard time getting coverage from my insurance. My drugs were at my door 1 week after prescribing cause the insurance companies know they have to cover this. The work with the drug companies to eventually issue the drug.
I also find it so unbelievable they make a cure, and because of $$ make it so hard to obtain. Be assertive and also Prayer can be very effective. That is what I did.
