Purposely infected?
« on: August 15, 2014, 04:09:20 pm »
I recently made the mistake of buying some cocaine. The man who sold it to me had large blisters on his hands and seemed very sketchy. I was told to wait at a McDonalds and there was plenty of time for him to do something. I only did one line, but the stuff made my nose bleed and it was very wet. It didn't get me very high. Is it possible he contaminated it with blood or pus on purpose to infect me? I am getting tested in a couple of weeks and I'm going crazy.

I mean no disrespect to anyone living with a disease,  although I truly hope I am asking a stupid question.

It is really unlikely, but if you ever did coke with others, it is the passing of the straw that is risky. I'd wait 8 weeks and then get tested. If it comes back positive, it is unlikely from this exposure, but a lab test of your liver enzymes can find out whether this is a new or old infection.

As someone who lived with this for 25 years, this isn't worth getting worked up over. Get the test, then we can talk about getting worked up over it.

Thank you very much for being reassuring. I ment more like theroreticallty, could somebody make the conditions perfect so the substance contained their blood and cut your nose? I have never gotten a nose bleed from one line, and I've done it off and on in my teenage years.

Nose bleeds are very common with inhaled drugs, which is why they are a potential route for transmission. As for the rest of your question, I don't know.
