Have been reading the posts-thought I would share my story...

59 yr old male. Geno 4-F3-highest VL 450k...diagnosed in1976...at that time it was known as non-A or B...3 wk hospital stay...don't remember what they treated me with (not sure they did either), just know it was a welcome break from my routine at the time. Forgot about it, lived normally, high liver counts picked up on a routine screen in 2000.

Underwent Peg and Ribo therapy couple years later...UD after 3 months, reappeared in 7 months. Started an experimental pill a few years later (big round yellow)...VL sky rocketed so discontinued. Started "improved" Peg treatment a couple years ago...sides were horrific, so discontinued.

Started S/O 7 weeks ago. 4 week test came back this week, UD and ALL liver functions are normal...no red numbers...unbelievable...first time ever. I am a happy person.

Side effects are minimal...slight headache every now and then...more tired than usual...I was anyway...but still work and play. Outside in the sun a lot...some irritation but nothing severe.

Will have 2 more blood draws before I get in to see Dr again....hoping for more good news.

Good luck to everyone.

welcome papajohn, ia m in my 4th week too on same meds geno1  ya this whole day my side is killing me and i have that lump back, ive been trying to eat and drink healthy but like mike said, its inflamed and it doesnt heal overnite,, i get more than usal headaches since i found out about being positive and would get them before even worse, on bad days i figured it was my 1 year old, 2 and a half year old, and 3 year old[my daughter went all out with this chid thing, she is my only child and she is paying me back because all she had was dogs for sister and brothers, but she did admit it kind of backfired on her having all kids so quick lol  i have taken meditation up and that seems to help. i have to do it laying down because of all the broken bones and injuries i susstained during my journey thru life[hard living, it was fun at the time, i think]  also iam trying to read positive stuff instead of motorcyle books and other goofy stuff,, old behaviors are hard to kick but i can see now it is never too late. good luck to you bro, have a good one  willie g
