OLYSIO ( PIs) vs DECLATASVIR AND LEDIPASVIR
« on: September 26, 2014, 10:22:59 am »
I read that Declatasvir and Ledipasvir are safer and have less sides,  they advise patients to wait if they can since Olysio is a Protease Inhibitor. They did not get into the reasons why it was safer. Does anyone here know why?

HEY FRED220,  from what I hear as far as less effects are,,, the constipation you have is not relative for this combo,, and instead of hollering at humans[your wife, boyfriend etc., it seems on this new med your aggravation is more directed towards your dogs or cats, especially farm animals.,also when your driving it will seem like your going the speed limit and actualy you cant drive over 35 miles an hour[stinks though, because now they will give you a ticket for driving too slow on highway,so they are suggesting when on highway stay in the right lane and always have your caution lights on,,,should be no problem] oh ya and this one guy they tried it on decided he was going outside to rake his leaves and his neighbor found him with his rake up in a tree,, now that is kinda weird because I guess he was REALLY scared of heights,,  HEY MY MAN FRED220 HOW IS IT GOING?  I know your a humorous guy so I thought id throw that in for you.by the way how is the farm going?we have had great weather here so I assume farmers are happy,,rain here and here and lots of sun!  I hear my plants are doing real well ,ha ha I cant check them during the day because of sun and I wont check them at night because of poaching.  so brother I was talking about you the other day about eating liver and I had another good laugh,  but darn 220 I haven't heard anything except the cost is more,,, hell they probably don't even no lol.  like I stated before my Dr. [who is a big gastro, hep kinda Guy when he saw me I asked 'how are other folks doing?'' and he stated 'I was the first one on these s/o combos,,, who knows,,,, maybe your undetectable in one week but you will really glow in the dark and on your 2nd week of treatment you may get up and find your brain on the floor.[that will be a plus because you wont care anymore,, in my case I bet they wish they had got me on that combo first because then my neighbors can come back out now with their kids cause they wont get that sporadic opening of my front door and screaming at all hours of the day ha ha,,   well brother I'm sure somebody knows and give it awhile and get back on line. good to hear from you FRED222[SORRY,ITS 22, I JUST got a flash back from back in the day when I did 222's,,, anyone remember those? they put a pep in your step. not as good as the BLACK BEAUTYS,, these kids now a days don't have a clue what I'm talking about, thank the good LORD,,, hey you heard heroine has really had a comeback,, are you having any problem in your area? country schools, campuses etc.  like MIKE  said that's one of the reasons why this hep c thing is like wildfire.  THIS government knows what the hell's going on,,we have more security etc. in this country that its a lie they cant control this.  its another big payday for for them and they can build more prisons[which they are and their letting the private sector have that one,, just like a lot of so called soldiers who are from private company's etc. etc.  don't get me started on that one, I really do know too much about that stuff due to ex-vets and others who got me involved , heck I'm expecting a knock on my door anyday from THE MEN IN BLACK and the NASA will be driving,,, later, ''just'' Willie g  once again GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU , now giddy up

What I wanted to know is that I read that Declatasvir and ledipasvir(direct-acting)  are safer meds than Portease Inhibitors like Olysio.

Probably, and more effective. I just wanted to be sure you knew that daclatasvir won't be combined with ledipasivir. The next one out is sofosbuvir/ledipasvir combo followed by daclatasvir with a drug similar to ledipasvir

Sometimes I do not explain things correctly since I am always on the go. The article explained that patients should wait for the new meds coming in Oct/Nov/Dec  if they can since  Sova/Ledi  or  Sova/Decla are not a Protease Inhibitors, they are direct-acting antiviral. They felt that these new meds are safer and should have less sides. I wanted your opinion since I think you were treated with one of these and if you have heard/read anything on them.

Simply put, I think that the next drugs to be approved, sofosbuvir (Sovaldi) and ledipasvir are pretty amazing. I am not happy about the price tag, but the drugs are the best thing we've seen. Other choices that following this combo wouldn't tempt me to wait.
