Am I At Risk?
« on: October 28, 2014, 05:26:31 pm »
Hi everyone. This is my case.
A couple of weeks ago i was talking to this guy who has the hep c virus. I really don`t know if he is under treatment right now. Only thing i  know is that he has the virus at least for a year because a friend told me so. He is 49 years old so he could became infected decades ago when the virus wasn`t discovered yet.

Anyway, while he was talking to me, he accidentally spat tiny drops of saliva into my cheek. I think no drop went into my eye.
But lets think about the worst scenario. What if those tiny drops of saliva had blood on them because he had bad dental hygiene?.
And what if a couple of those those tiny drops went into my eye?. I know something entering into the conjunctiva goes directly into the bloodstream.
Some days i feel confident about this accident but sometimes its like a nightmare. I  lost track of the situation I'm in.
Please could anyone tell me what are my possibilities of getting infected?. I'm scared because a lot of people don't know how they got infected and maybe this could be one way of unknown infection. Last question: How many months should i wait before i get tested?
Thank you in advance!

Very, very, unlikely that you would have contracted hep C from these occurrences.

You could get tested 8 weeks after the last incident, or wait a total of 24 weeks to be 100% sure. 8 weeks is probably sufficient.
