I seem to be having slight heart flutters the last few days on Harvoni. I don't think it's anything serious.

Magnesium and copper are both good for the heart.

I've been having palpitations from Harvoni more the last few days. I'm not a big guy, I'm kind of skinny, and 5' 11" and about 165.

Do you think it would make sense if I took 1/2 a Harvoni pill on Sunday if it keeps up or should I wait to talk to my MD's nurse on Monday? It's not bad and I decided to take Magnesium again tonight, which might help out with that.

I was seen by Cardiologist and had the monitor for 30 days, monitor came back with PAC ,PVC and SVT. I then went to EP and he said it was nothing to worry they are all benign. Stress and anxiety are a trigger for my heart to flutter, skip etc.  I did lots of reading on line and they are not dangerous, they are just a pain in the neck when you are sitting watching tv and the heart skips. I was hoping someone here was dealing with SVT and if the meds made them more often.

Palpitations are often caused by Magnesium (Mg) deficiency which is why I take 400-800 mg of Mg daily. Too much Mg can also cause palps if you take enough to cause loose bowels. I try to stay just under bowel tolerance for Mg.
You can write it off as inherited if you want to but I've seen a lot of people conquer many symptoms with Mg. I'm not saying it's a good or a bad idea on Tx but Gilead didn't tell me not to take Mg when I called them, I think they just said it's not been tested with Harvoni. I take Mg at least 4 hours away from Harvoni.

I may be wrong but I seem to see many people on this forum and on Tx that are displaying typical symptoms of Mg deficiency.

Hi Joe

I have seen references not to split Harvoni and also from the prescribing information sheet

How should I take HARVONI?
 Take HARVONI exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to take it. Do not change your dose unless your healthcare provider tells you to.
 Do not stop taking HARVONI without first talking with your healthcare provider. If you think there is a reason to stop taking HARVONI, talk to your healthcare provider before doing so.
 Take HARVONI 1 time each day with or without food.
 If you miss a dose of HARVONI, take the missed dose as soon as you remember the same day. Do not take more than 1 tablet of HARVONI in a day. Take your next dose of HARVONI at your regular time the next day.

I would recommend you call your doctor before messing around with your dose.

Also I don't seem to be feeling different on treatment than I did prior to treatment just for a different data point.

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for this info. It may not even be Harvoni, and if it is, I don't think it's serious and it's only once in a while.
