Not quite sure what you are asking you say these results are not way out of normal what insight would you need for normal results?

What treatment are you taking and for how long? What is your genotype? How is your liver and what were your tests like before treatment?

Also different labs may use different reference ranges.

As always your best source of information about your blood test results is your doctor

Good luck on treatment

Yes the fibrosure is less accurate at lower levels of damage. However your doctor did tell you that you have little damage. As cirrhosis is significant liver damage your doctor is saying you do not have cirrhosis.

The one best method to check the liver is a needle liver biopsy. Liver damage has no relationship to viral load or to liver function tests.

The only test I have that is significantly out of normal is my platelet count which when I was not treating was 90 with normal minimum being 150. But even this test does not mean cirrhosis as other thins can cause low platelets but for me as I have known cirrhosis that is the reason I have low platelets. The time from my first biopsy of F1 to my F4 cirrhosis biopsy was 15 years. I probably had been infected with hep c for 30 years when I was diagnosed with cirrhosis so in general it takes many years to decades for hep c to cause cirrhosis.

If I were you when your doctor said you have minimal damage I would accept the good news that you do not have cirrhosis.

Good luck on treatment

For those with cirrhosis we will need to be followed in the same manner as before. For my hepatologist that means a 6 month ultrasound and AFP blood test as well as liver function CBC,  BMP , estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (EGFR), and protime for INR/ PTT. As well as an annual upper endoscopy and an annual doctor visit.

Even thought we have hopefully cured Hep c we still have cirrhosis and have to be monitored for complications of cirrhosis as well as the development of liver cancer (HCC) for which patients with cirrhosis are still at increased risk although this risk will decrease as time goes on it it believed by some.

Has your doctor said you have cirrhosis? Do you know your MELD or Child Pugh Scores?

If you have been diagnosed with cirrhosis have you had an upper endoscopy to check for esophageal varicies? Do you have and complications of cirrhosis?

Good luck on treatment
