Lower WBC 3 Weeks Post Harvoni
« on: March 30, 2015, 02:39:44 pm »

Any others having this? My WBC was 3.3 (4-10.5).

Last night I felt cold in bed, and it wasn't even a really cold night. After adding a blanket, I then became too hot. I don't have a fever but I have flu like symptoms at times. Sometimes I feel kind of achy and my feet get cold.

They want to recheck my WBC soon. I feel it will pass sooner or later. If it's still low, I don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill. I certainly would not go into the hospital for it. I think my body is trying to recover from Harvoni.

I don't know but I have a feeling my lower WBC is not even related to Harvoni. :)

Hi Lukey - you might be right, but on the other hand, we won't find out until people tell us their experiences.

Do you happen to know what your pre-treatment WBCs were? Some people normally run low, and if yours were low before, then that might explain it.

Hi Lucinda,

I have had somewhat low WBCs many years ago (in the 80s and probably the 90s too) but lately I think they've been in the normal range - except for my last bloodwork.
I'm doing detox therapies right now that may very well cause some side effects as well as lower WBC. I like to go by how I feel. I don't want my MDs to take allopathic steps to try to correct this. I'm not surprised the WBC caused their red flags to go up but I doubt it's anything I 'd be alarmed about. :)  I don't really want to test my WBC again but I will - just to satisfy them, and I hope they will let this ride and not try to make it become a big issue because I'd bet $1 it will pass.

Hi Lukey,
They shouldn't make a big deal over this as it isn't clinically concerning and absolutely nothing would be done with WBCs in that range - they are only mildly low, and not a flag at this point.
