Last Pill Tomorrow
« on: May 31, 2015, 08:58:01 pm »
Well I'm at the end of the 12 week Harvoni TX.  I've got one pill left to take tomorrow.  I'm just sort of staring at it as it lays on the table in front of me.   Wondering if after all these years the beast has been finally destroyed.

The last 12 weeks seemed to go pretty fast for me, no side effects, nothing really much to report other than my 4 and 8 week labs.  I'll check back in after lab results hopefully on Wednesday.

Here's hopin'

Pete

Congrats Pete! :) It must be daunting to stare at that last pill. But uplifting too, I would imagine. I will be there in another 8 weeks.

Good luck with all your lab results!

best,
kim

Congratulations Pete!!!  This Thursday will be my 9th week.  I'm hoping for success this time.  Failing 5 treaments prior, I'm hoping this will be the miracle drug.  If not, in my heart I would want to stop trying.  But I'm sure they will encourage me to keep trying.

Best of Luck Pete.

Go Pete!

I have 9 pills left to go of my 12 weeks and it's kind of freaking me out a bit!

Now what? Now I start rebuilding my health and my life after the virus - one step at a time.

I appreciate the replies and encouragement.  My CBC and LFT's were all fine, still waiting on V/L results.  I hope to have those tomorrow.

I'll be sure to post up those results when I have them.  Best to all!

Regards,
Pete

I received the following message from my patient portal today.

Regarding: Lab tests

Your recent test results were negative for your final viral load! Congratulation on completing therapy. Will need to await your 1 and 3 month post treatment viral load levels to be sure you are cured!

06/01/2015 8:17
                                                                Value        Ref Range
HCV RNA Quantitative (PCR)                 <12 IU/mL        (- <=12)
HCV Log 10(PCR)                             <1.08 LogIU/mL    (- <=1.08)

Now the waiting begins.  I've 3 additional labs scheduled at 4, 12 & 24 weeks post treatment. I'll think about about it for a day or two, but I don't intend to fret over it.  Obviously hoping for SVR.  But if not, at least I've been free of detectable virus for awhile now and feel better than I have in quite sometime as a result.  For that I'm grateful.

Praying for the best outcome for everyone here.  For those just getting started, I hope my experience delivers some positive energy for your journey.

Best,
Pete
