Timing
« on: May 18, 2015, 07:58:52 pm »
Went to get poked for my post EOT 4 week blood test today. On the way to the clinic who calls? Support-path. Said I've been Ok'd for the 8 weeks of extra treatment I had asked for. Could have knocked me over with a feather.

I was originally ok'd for 12 weeks of Harvoni. I then got the ok for an additional 4 weeks with the intent to go for the full 24 weeks. The insurance company balked after the 1st 4 wk extension. I submitted to support path but my pills ran out before I could get more from Gilead.
I told support path I would know in 2-3 days what my status was and asked that they hold on to my approval until I find out if I cleared or not. They said they would wait to hear from me.
This whole thing seemed like an episode of the twilight zone. I was super stressed trying to get the final 8 wks then just resigned myself to the DAA gods when I ran out. At least we'll have a 16 wk tx data point to add to the list.

If I'm not clear in a few days I am going to immediately start treatment again.

Sam this is actually good news in a back wards kind of way! You have your plan "B" all set to go.
Huge Win if you are still undetected and not so horrible if you are not and can immediately get back into treatment.

Will this backup plan hold in place through your future lab draws too?

Got the results for my 4 week post eot. Undetected. All liver panel results within range. If things change by 12 week SVR, I will be on the phone to support path post haste. This may be the first all normal liver panel I've had in 40 years..

Congrats Sam

From what I have read there is a 98.5% likelyhood if you make SVR 4 you will stay SVR for SVR 12 it is 99.8% so your odds with SVR 4 are very good that you have made it!

Thanks. Are you going for the 4 wk test or just waiting for the big 12?

The 4 week test. That would be June 1st.

I relapsed last year after 12 weeks of Sov/Oly treatment at week 12 post. (Viral load at relapse was 2.4 million).

So with that in mind I think that would be very informative for me based on my history.
