Last Bottle!
« on: November 04, 2015, 07:52:44 pm »
A new avatar in celebration of receiving my LAST bottle of Harvoni!!!   ;D ;D ;D  No more worrying about why the paperwork I was given at my last doctor's (nurse) appointment read "Duration: 8 weeks" instead of 12 weeks.

"Oh don't worry.  You can ignore that."   ::)  Silly me, I worried anyway.  A lot.  I'm funny that way about my medical records.

So long surly Eminen and hello Carol.  Cookies for everyone!  Lots and lots of cookies!

Thanks all!

Gnatty, I don't have an artistic bone in my body.  I've always been more the tom-boy athletic type so enjoyed tossing empty bottle #1 in the trash bin from across the room.

"She shoots, she scores!!!  woooo-hooo!"  The second bottle might be a slam dunk.  I like to mix things up.  :)

I too saved my first empty bottle, not sure why but glad I was not the only one.  No clue what I will do with them though.
Waiting for my first delivery was brutal.  Waiting and waiting for UPS only to see him pass by and not drop anything off.  Had it delivered to the office so I would be sure and be here but when I had to leave and he had not yet arrived, made my hubby wait.  He found the UPS guy (substitute driver) ready to drop the package off with someone else in another office >:(....Next delivery will be the week before Thanksgiving.  Much anxiety with delivery, will be happy to see that final bottle arrive.  It is about a 6 hour drive to the pharmacy from my home, part of me thinks it would be less stressful if I just drove up and picked it up.

Cindy, the sense of relief you'll feel when the final bottle arrives! In my neighborhood, sometimes thieves walk a discreet distance behind the delivery truck, then steal the packages. I'm retired, hence no office, and our pharmacies aren't all that great. So, I requested Signature Required but worried that I'd fall asleep and not hear the doorbell. Whenever I really, really, REALLY need a nap on delivery day, the truck doesn't show up until the evening -- sigh! Makes me dread ordering things, which is good for our household's bottom line  ;D

Yeah, waitin' on the delivery truck.  Endless loops of the Jeopardy music played in my head.   :o  You're right Gnatty - that final bottle is a rush!  8)

Tommy - my favorite cookies are made by my brother-in-law and it's lucky I don't have the recipe.  I'd be in trouble.  It's a chocolate chip cookie with dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, smashed up Heath bars and chopped pecans.  And just enough cookie dough to hold it all together.  Oh man!!!  :D :P :o  You really can't eat more than one, but I manage to anyway.  :)

I have a unrealistic fear of losing the pills or them being stolen. Past of my mind knows it is crazy, the other part...not so much...  I set the house alarm every day. If someone were to break in while we were gone, they would probably steal them thinking they were worth something to someone besides ME!!  I put them in a less obvious place too.
Even I think I am crazier than normal.  I have not told anyone though :o

Half way point...6 more weeks to go 8)  Still waiting on my first 4 week blood test.

Else, I also have no artistic ability.  Maybe someone can make a youtube video on how to decorate the bottles.

Cindy,

I have to chuckle...I had so many 'little' annoying fears while on harvoni.  I must have counted the pills in the bottle 6 times while counting the days backwards.  When I "kinda forgot" if indeed took my pill, I thought...'If I did and I take another, it is considered an overdose, if did not take it and go a whole 24 hrs the virus might build immunity to the drug'  :).  Oooooh Nooooo!

I always questioned the theft aspect because of the cost of the drugs and because I have little faith in the mail system being safe.  I even thought about getting counterfeits...haha.  Seriously, for the money that could be made on the open market...the cost of creating a mold and switching the pills out ain't nothing...pretty paranoid stuff I know...only half serious here  ;)

More serious though, I travel a lot and was so concerned with losing them, theft from hotel rooms (locked them up) TSA confiscating them...dropping one down the drain. I also hid spares in luggage nooks and crannies...when I got to the end of tx I was taking the hidden ones.

Alright I confessed...someone else now.

Heck yeah, I hide them!!!  One bottle is worth more than all my worldly goods combined.  And if you believe the bogus retail list price per pill, two of those little guys are worth more than my car.  Where do I hide them?   :-X   ;D

Beto!  Haha - I just got done counting.

Okay, I'm saving my last bottle as a Christmas tree ornament.  That's as artsy as I get.  I'll drill a hole in the lid and put a hook on it.  Ta-da!   :)

Else congratulations. You'll be all finished by the holidays!!  Good for you.  I'm supposed to get the last 2 month supply delivered tomorrow and i will rest easier with them in my possession.

Cindy and Beto - you are not alone!  I've done the pill counting to make sure I didn't miss a dose. With 6 ribas a day that's not easy. (thank you brain fog!)

Hi all,
What a gorgeous girl you are Else :) much prettier than Eminem. Remember when I thought that was you?
Lynn I love your new pic too, you look like a strong self assured woman, with a hint of mischief 8)

Congrats on getting to the last bottle. I have another week to go then I'm off Ribas (that's 12 weeks) and the I restart that extra month of Viekira. I probably won't be able to tell if it's much difference because as we know RIBA takes so long to leave the body. Never-mind! It's nearly over. Then off to the other side (play scary music).

I was given my 3 months worth of Viekira all at once so I've never had to worry. I However in the first month of tx I used to dream every night that I forgot to take them, I took the wrong ones, too late, I lost them etc. etc. I would wake up so distressed I'd have to get up and check. It's so scary and brave what we've done, don't ever forget that. We need to credit ourselves and pat ourselves on the back. Or in the virtual conga line Bill we could pat each other on the back!

What a journey it's been so far. Bit more to go yet though so I won't count my chickens just yet. I keep peeking at them though.  :P cal

Hi Cal
That is my hero Amelia Earhart but thanks!

Else
"Brought to you by... wait for it... The Milk'em Badly Company!!!  " Lol too funny!

I was able to contact the delivery companies setting up an account on the UPS and Fed ex sites to control delivery to a local store so that way I knew the little $30,000 bottles were safe in the store and not on my porch.

They would call when they received them and I would go there to pick up. I got tired of sleeping on the carpet by the front door so I wouldn't miss the delivery or worse having to go into work on second shift before they were delivered or be late to work in order to receive my meds.

I have my Alpha and Omega bottles 2 of the 6  I like the tree ornament idea hey I have an idea we could string them like popcorn for garland!

Never interrupt someone doing what you said couldn't be done.

Lynn
