Starting Viekera Pak and Ribo tommorow....Nervous
« on: November 11, 2015, 07:49:47 pm »
I don't even know where to start or what questions to ask.  I kindly ask anyone out there if there is anything they suggest for me.  I am a mother of 3 beautiful children with a full time job.  I don't know how to navigate.
Thank you all in advance... :-X

Hi Fight and welcome to the forum,
If you could please post your stats(Viral load, genotype etc)in your profile signature. This will keep us from having to keep asking. There's nothing to be nervous about so relax.I'm on the Viekira to but not the ribas which can be a bit of a pain.I'll let Cal or one of the others go into that with you.Everyone here is great and will support you in any way we can. These new drugs are amazing and I would suggest reading some of the other threads here because there's a lot of good information in them.If you do have any questions just ask and someone will help you out.  :)

Hi Flight290,
I hope it's a safe and happy flight for you! I'm on Viekira and ribas. I'm doing 16 weeks Viekira and 12 weeks riba. I finish ribas today. Hooray!

You may get side effects from the ribas. I don't know if you've treated before and know this, but they often will make you anaemic, tired, restless. You may get headaches the first week or so. Drink water and plenty of it, don't drown though! Ribas dry you out.

But whatever side effects you get, please write about them and we can support you, validate you or whatever your needs are. Stick close to the forum and post daily if you can. Then we get to know you and your tx (treatment).

Plenty of people have worked and coped well. But rest when you need to. Speak to your Doctor often and get bloods as required to track you.

Read the Viekarian threads. They'll give you the best idea. I've put what Day I'm on in my thread here and there to track the progress.

Good luck fellow Viekarian welcome to the club. Cal :)

Welcome Flight290! It's easy to say don't be nervous, but it's second nature to worry about something that is unfamiliar.

Plenty of us have gone through the treatment, I did 24 weeks of Viekira and riba and came out the other side smiling.

If you post your genotype, length of treatment and liver condition we will have a better idea of how we can best help you with advice and most importantly stop bugging you with those questions from 20 different people.

If you look at many sports, you'll see at detail at the bottom of them.

All the very best for treatment and beyond !
