EOT + 12 weeks
« on: November 12, 2015, 03:05:29 pm »
I got the call this morning that I was still undetectable at 12 weeks after EOT with Harvoni for 24 weeks.

I have thought about having HepC every day since I found out about it in 2006.  Every day it has been in the back of my mind.  You all know what I'm talking about.  The absolute worst was early in 2014 when after 5 months of interferon/ribavirin/telaprevir I was told that I had relapsed.  That treatment was the most difficult thing I have ever done on purpose.  I resolve to replace these thoughts with positive hopeful thoughts for everyone in their struggle to clear themselves of this disease.

This is a good day for me as you can imagine - I got to see my new baby grandchild born 18 days ago - I am a lucky man.

Thank you for being here and lending us your knowledge and experiences, it has been very helpful.

Best wishes to everyone!

I know just what you mean Hopefulguy.
It was not until my SVR that I allowed myself to admit how much the hep c had colored my life and my thoughts. Always there in the back ground and I kept it there out of the way, but still a burden.

Double congratulations to you!! Hug that sweet little baby

Congratulations helpfulguy!!!
So happy for you that the HCV is gone and a grandchild  :) then you are rich...
Until now that I am on treatment and read all the words here I didn't realise how many impact the HCV has on and in my life. Always back in mind, always feeling lower than other people, though I have a husband, daughter, bought a house, working since 1990 in the addiction care, I always felt that there is a secret. When I read your words in so few words ('you all know') I suddenly feel so sad about that burden which I didn't realise on the surface, but now I recognise it....
It is a miracle for me that I maybe am cured in 7 weeks (now is my day 11). When I read your words I am so happy for you!!!
Thank you !!!

Madelief,
So sorry to hear you are struggling with some frustrating side effects.  I have read others on Harvoni have also experienced similar sides.  I hope this improves soon.  I feel fortunate as I have only experienced periodic headaches since starting my medications.  But...as you can see from my previous post, my brain fog (along with my reading comprehension) has only mildly improved with treatment.  :-)

The light at the end of the tunnel is visible and within reach!

Mary

Don't be surprised if the side effects subside - drink tons of water and hang in there!

Thank you everyone for your good wishes - I'm still having a hard time believing that I am 'cured' but I can live with that challenge  :)
