Hi, Omar. Sorry no one has answered your question yet. This is about your mother, right? Does she have cirrhosis of the liver? This will influence what pain killer is best for her to take. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on this will see it and reply soon. I do know that if she has cirrhosis then it is best for her to take Tylenol/acetaminophen rather than NSAID drugs like ibuprofen or aspirin. This is because of the risk of internal bleeding that goes along with these drugs and advanced liver disease. Have you tried asking her doctor or pharmacist about this?

Hi AussieRosa. Thank you for your reply. yes it'is for my mother on sav dac treatment. She is genotype2 with F3 fibrosis. I check on the internet the dragu intercations and i read that all gout drugs could not be taken during the treatment (colchicine, zyloric...). To avoid anay impact on the efficiency of sov dac, i prefer not to give her anay other drugs. the important for us is to fix hep c.
i will talk to the doctor next visit.
Now i'm doing research on internet about natural care.
If you have any advise about food to avoid during the treatment, don't hesitate to share with me.
Best regards

Hello omarcasa2016,

I don't have gout, but I battle to keep uric acid levels down, and one of the best foods for that is cherries. Cherry juice, or cherries... It actually brings uric acid levels down. Also vit C is helpful.
That's all I got, and best wishes for your mom.

Hi omarcasa2016,

I am do sorry for not having responded earlier,  life has been busy.
Sorry to hear about your mother and her gout pain,  j just can't imagine.
Regarding dac/sov treatment, I take mine together and immediately after breakfast a day they feel like they are working a treat but it's only 2 weeks.
Pansy is right and I actually heard this about cherries on the news last night and thought of you.

Maybe google cherries/gout in news.
Good luck and I hope your mum is doing ok.

Hi omarcasa,
Currently I'm on Harvoni and taking allopurinol for gout. As you can see by my sig line it hasnt affected my hcv tx. Maybe ask your moms doctor if that could work with her tx.

Hi J.R.
I m glad to read your results and that everything is OK with harvoni tx.
I will ask the doctor. When i chek the link in this forum to hepc drugs interaction application the results show that à potential interaction between sofosbuvir and allopurinol exists but has not bien studied
As harvoni is composed also by sofosbuvir i think as you said there is no problem and the interaction is not sûre.
Thank à lot for the informations it will help us too much and Best wishes for you.

omarcasa2016,

I found a cherry extract that may help with the gout.
I am going to try this myself, to lower uric acid:

http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Black-Cherry-Fruit/dp/B001DOOBCK

I hope this helps!

Hi pansy
Thank you for your advise. We will try cherry and hope that it will not reduce the efficiency of the treatment sof +dac (such as some fruits and taurine).
Many thanks
omar
