Viekiera pak side effects

Ok, hello all.  I.m almost 5 weeks into viekeira pal and have been put on tablets for high blood pressure.  Never had it before in my life. I.m not overweight, don't smoke or drink.
Last Sunday called ambulance as it was 210/98. It,s going down now, thank God. I hope I can come off the tablets when the treatment finishes.
Apart from that, itching has gone and So have muscle and joint pains. I have more energy than I did before I started .

I have not heard that and it isn't listed as a side effect. Do you have cirrhosis? Are you taking ribavirin? Did they give you an explanation? Were you dehydrated and perhaps ate a high sodium meal? So glad things are better!!!!!!!

The people I know who have done VP have mentioned their BP going down on treatment not up. I only speak of about 1/2 dozen people, I was one of them.

My fibroscan was 12  ultrasound showed no sign of cirrhosis.  I have hosp. appt. Monday  so should hear some 2 week. blood results. B/P perfectly fine now with the pills.  We.'ll see when treatment ends if it is the cause. Whatever I.m so pleased to be on this treatment and will keep posting xxxx

Please do, Ange. As you can see from my sig I too did VP - 24 weeks of it, with riba.I got my SVR24 last month - a very happy result! I hope you will get the same great news.

I can't speak to a blood pressure that high, but i did experience intermittent spikes in blood pressure and it seemed to coincide with an the increasing sensation that my heart would beat out of my chest.  Since i practice yoga, and systematic breathing, i was able to prevent my awareness of the physical process from spurring an acute anxious reaction (which may?? be the cause of precisely why it was so high)....  I didnt see if you were on riba, but if you were, riba has some nasty effects on the circulatory system,.. even amongst people who dont signify through their bloodwork that they are anemic, my trial doctor has found that a large portion of them are suffering from similar symptoms...if you happen to have CBC labs available, check your reticulocytes.. if they are high its yet another indicator that RBC/HGB are being destroyed and your body is working overtime to replace them...
